Another quote for replacing the fence arrived today. Concrete posts and stuff with that flippy flap fencing :

One thousand two hundred and something pounds.

Can you not B&Q it?
Jan. 31st, 2005 07:29 pm (UTC)
Looks like that is what will happen.
Jan. 31st, 2005 07:34 pm (UTC)
probably save you a fortune!
Just make sure them posts go in allll the way down
Jan. 31st, 2005 07:37 pm (UTC)
It would probably be about half the price to B&Q it.
Then it's just a pain in the arse.

But you could do it at your own pace, getting the posts up, couple at a time.. then slate by slate?

Interesting project :)

I wish I had a garden :p

Yes, fabby idea.

Jamie, come and visit us :p

Take Frankie up with you so that I can have girly chats with her whilst the boys do the work :D
Jan. 31st, 2005 08:13 pm (UTC)
That's Franki no e :P

And that sounds like a plan to me :P
Jan. 31st, 2005 08:50 pm (UTC)
I knew that, I don't know why I put an "e" on the end. Sorry.

Next step - convince Jamie that it is a good idea *nods8
Jan. 31st, 2005 08:54 pm (UTC)
This is true *ponders*

I'm sure he wouldn't take *much* convincing though, if he got to see the Loverly Laura :P
Jan. 31st, 2005 09:02 pm (UTC)
That is it :D

Sell it from that angle, not the angle that he would be doing lots of work with a payment of dinner only :D
Jan. 31st, 2005 09:05 pm (UTC)
Haha!! I'm sure the Loverly Laura-ness will cancel allllll that out :P
Jan. 31st, 2005 08:42 pm (UTC)

Its a piece of cake with the right stuff and the right tools. Unless your putting your poles in concrete!
Jan. 31st, 2005 09:43 pm (UTC)
It needs concrete posts which, yes, will have to be set in concrete.

God that price is unbeleivable, especially when ive just had a wall built in my front garden which is about 15ft long and its about 8 courses high but we have 4 pillars a bit higher and in between we will be putting wrought iron things in (if you know what i mean) anyways we had all the gear so he charged us 180 quid to do the wall.....not bad eh.
Jan. 31st, 2005 11:20 pm (UTC)
How much for the bricks? We could maybe make our own wall like that.

The price is quite high yes, but another guy was asking 1125 for just a wooden thing :/

Two people have been round and not even bothered to put a quote in for some reason...

We got them cheap from a builders merchants near us......they were the last lot and they cost us about 70 quid....ish.

Might be worth trying to find a local builders merchant, maybe not a big named company cos they might be more expensive.
Feb. 1st, 2005 11:00 pm (UTC)
that is true
Feb. 1st, 2005 05:01 pm (UTC)
