cats

We have not been given Zeus and Aries. Mrs "I'm a nasty person with no communication skills" liz the cat woman decided that we were "too close to a road".

A little something about our house. We live at the top of a hill. The road she is talking about is at the bottom of said hill. 5 metres down a cliff-like slope fenced off with a wire fence.

She seems to think that the cats would take pleasure in throwing themselves off the edge. Funny how none of the neighbours cats have done that in the three years that I've lived here, isn't it?

What a load of balls.

eh? we lived ON a main road when we had the kitten. they did make us promise she would be a house cat, but we were thinking that anyway, and everyone was a winner.

unecessary.

Talking with other people it seems to depend on who comes out to visit. Looks like we got a jobsworth.

How horrible and disappointing that must be for you, and what a pile of poo. The M1 motorway is literally at the bottom of the garden that backed on to ours, and they didn't mind giving us our Monty ages ago. And you said the cats were shy-like they would go anywhere near a road like that anyway!

Luck of the draw I guess, some people are just nasty about things like that. I hope you get a better person next time, I really do, as I know the both of you would look after them and care for them so well.

*sympathy* These places do seem to be rather anal at times, I'm afraid. It's easier if you know someone who can recommend a place or even a vet to you - like kaiserdad's recommendation above. (My mum's vet surgery keep trying to find a miniature yorkshire terrier bitch whose owners want to breed her because they think her mini yorkie is ab-so-lute-ly gorgeous, lol)

Keep on trying. *hug*

You must be so disappointed, I know I would be :( At home in Kent our neighbour has 2 cats and we're on possibly one of the busiest roads in town! Keep on trying x

Thats pretty shit. I never realised it was so hard to get a cat nowadays.

Do you have to get one from the RSPCA? Have you not looked in newspapers and stuff where people are wanting to give/sell away kittens or something?

We could do that, but we've got a few other options to look at first. :o

That is so crap :|

You're always hearing stories about how these shelter places are over crowded, no wonder if they're rejecting good people cos they live in the vicinity of a road, arent all houses near roads?!
